Ole Scheeren’s TED Talk now live

Jan 14, 2016

In September last year, Ole Scheeren was invited to give a talk for TED about the ideas that shape the office’s designs. The talk is now online:

Ole Scheeren challenges in his TED talk the famous utilitarian principle of “form follows function” by proposing the concept of “form follows fiction”. He asks if we can think of buildings as places where stories unfold? Should architecture then be concerned with the experiences and possibilities it creates for those inhabiting these spaces? How can their stories script our buildings and how can our buildings script these stories in turn?

Ole Scheeren exemplifies this idea which has guided much of his work with various projects including the design for the residential complex The Interlace in Singapore which won the World Building of the Year Award 2015.
